Overview: Teachers at KCA are dedicated professionals who demonstrate both academic excellence and spiritual maturity, embracing the mission to "train up a child in the way he should go." They are expected to be college graduates with strong leadership and instructional abilities. A minimum of one year of teaching experience is preferred. If not already certified with ACSI, teachers must pursue certification while employed at KCA.
Primary Responsibilities: Teachers play a crucial role in providing instruction within their assigned curriculum areas. To fulfill this responsibility, they are expected to:
Conduct regularly scheduled classes as assigned.
Monitor and support the academic, spiritual, and social development of each student.
Utilize effective teaching methods, instructional aids, and creative materials to enhance student learning.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Administration.
Instructional Duties: To ensure high-quality education, teachers will:
Prepare adequately to achieve established objectives for each class.
Create Semester Projections and Unit plans to reach content goals.
Maintain accurate records of attendance and grades for both administrative and parental communication.
Assign homework that reinforces learning, encourages self-study, and fosters personal responsibility.
Contribute to the review and revision of curriculum documents and teaching resources.
Attend and participate in devotions, faculty meetings, staff meetings, orientation, and in-service training.
Request necessary instructional materials and aids for classroom use.
Incorporate field trips, guest lecturers, and various media to enhance teaching effectiveness.
Pursue professional development through seminars, educational conferences, and graduate coursework when possible.
Manage and track student textbooks and materials.
Maintain classroom discipline and foster a positive learning environment.
Serve as an internal substitute for absent faculty members when needed.
Keep classrooms clean and organized throughout the week.
Submit lesson plans every Monday morning.
Extracurricular & School Responsibilities: Teachers report directly to their Principal and may be assigned additional responsibilities, including:
Advising and mentoring assigned students.
Attending teacher prayer meetings, assemblies, and school functions relevant to their role.
Providing spiritual guidance and support to students and fellow teachers.
Supervising study halls and student activities as assigned by the Principal or Headmaster.
Serving as a class advisor.
Monitoring lunchroom and recess activities.
